Arcata Zen Group
The Arcata Zen Group is a Zen Buddhist group which welcomes anyone to participate with them in sitting & walking meditation. The AZG BOD official statement is that “AZG is an inclusive community and welcomes all without regard to race, gender, class, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, or disability.” A number of LBGTQ-identified people have been a part of the AZG sangha over the years & found it to be gay-friendly. AZG group meditation occurs Sundays at the Northcoast Aikido Dojo behind the New Outdoor Store on the Arcata plaza at 8:10 AM & at 8:50 AM. There are also regular opportunities for group sits at the AZG Zendo at 740 Park in the Arcata hills; in Eureka; & in Trinidad.
