The first Ferndale Pride March was in June, 2020. 

Love_Humboldt on instagram put out a call. Dozens of community members showed up, sung songs of queer love (Dear friends, Queer friends, Let me tell you how I’m feeling, You have given me such pleasure, I love you so!), and marched through Ferndale with rainbow flags. That event was very much a grassroots political protest. 

One year later, Papa K, a disabled trans veteran who lives in Ferndale, organized the second Ferndale Pride March, thus making it an annual event. This is how Lost Coast Pride was born. 

Lost Coast Pride offers thanks to the organizer of the first Ferndale Pride March (Love_Humboldt) for starting a movement that continues to this day and continues to have a huge impact on our local community.
